Our partner John, descendent of Chief PuMuen of the Lahu hill tribes in the northern region of Thailand also known as the Golden Triangle, and his father Chaikor, originally from the Chinese army, were called upon by His Majesty King Bhumibol of Thailand to replace the existing farming and trading of opium with coffee and tea.
